Besides the issue that Rosa’s talking about here - which is more important and valid than what I’m talking about - the point that she makes above really hits me. I’m allergic to NSAIDs - Advil, Asprin, anything non-steroidal that relieves inflamation (That’s what NSAIDs stand for. Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs) and I have had some pretty serious knee problems (partially from being a klutz, partially from being a ballerina for too long), but I generally refuse to take huge doses of Tylenol for them, because I like to know when I’m further injuring my knee by walking around on it, something that painkillers mask.
(For cramps, I used to take handfuls of Tylenol. Thank god my OB/GYN gave me some Tylenol with Codeine so I can manage to not feel pain without ruining my liver.)
