There is a whole diatribe I could go on about how the Academy Awards, in 2011, continues to support institutionalized racism and would rather honor features that reinforce stereotypes (The Help, Dreamgirls, Slumdog Millionaire) and ignore features that try to tell riskier stories (The Namesake.)

But at the end of the day, what’s the use? It’s like complaining about your high school’s choice of a homecoming court. Either way nobody will remember who they are in 20 years.
