What I Read in May:
- Insurgent by Veronica Roth
- The Pale King by David Foster Wallace
- The Ask and the Answer by Patrick Ness
- When She Woke by Hillary Jordan
- The Art of Fielding by Chad Harbach
- Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson
- Bitterblue by Kristin Cashore
- An Abundance of Katherines by John Green
This month was a little YA heavy - Insurgent and Bitterblue came out and I had to read them ASAP, Leila said An Abundance of Katherines was her favorite John Green so I read that (A+, Leila), I was bored and drunk on the train and Caitlin had just told me to read When She Woke, and I can’t stop reading the Patrick Ness series even though I don’t like it - I just have to find out what happens next.
But I made up for that by reading ~1500 pages of Real Literature, as they say. And The Pale King, oh my god, what a book that could have been, what a book it is.
GoodReads says I’m holding steady at 4 books ahead of my challenge to read 100 books in 2012, 45 so far. Be my friend there.
ALSO. Page stats: 17,525 read this year, 3,721 this month. WHAT. I’m a monster. A BOOK MONSTER. That means that the books I read in May had an average page length of 465 and the books I’ve read in 2012 have an average page length of 390. I like big books and I cannot lie.
