What I read in July: The Path to the Spiders’ Nest by Italo Calvino Dune by Frank Herbert Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn The Books of Rachel by Joel Gross The Chaperone by Laura Moriarty Grim by Anna Waggener Matched by Ally Condie Crossed by Ally Condie Uglies by Scott Westerfield Pretties by Scott Westerfield Specials by Scott Westerfield Feed by M.T. Anderson Life as We Knew It by Susan Beth Pfeffer Unwind by Neal Shusterman Cinder by Marissa Meyer I read all month. I’m considering all Y/A books to be research. My sister, the librarian, gave me a list and I’ve been plowing through it. I loved the Uglies/Pretties/Specials and read those in about 36 hours. I’m furious that the sequel to Cinder doesn’t come out until 2013. Matched/Crossed were very good. However, I don’t think I’m going to read the sequel to Unwind. Grim was written by a friend’s friend and eh. Non-Y/A books this month: Dune was, obviously, fabulous. I can’t believe I took this long to finally pick it up. Gone Girl was as gripping and intense and well written as everyone says. GoodReads says I’m 10 books ahead of my challenge to read 100 books in 2012, 68 so far. Be my friend there.
