How to Change Your Name After Marriage | eHow.com
Uggghhhh…
This is unnecessarily complicated, made more complicated by the fact that I’m somehow supposed to get my passport changed to reflect my new last name in a non-existent amount of time.
HATE.
Just book your ticket under your maiden name. The perfectly legal, easy way to deal with this.
I got married in August, and tried to get a new passport for our Christmas honeymoon, and it was literally “If it doesn’t come today I’m driving 5 hours to the passport office in Chicago (at which I already had an appointment) tomorrow because otherwise I can’t go to France.”
Oh, and I’ve been married 4.5 years and I still have credit cards and bank accounts that reflect my maiden name.
