It almost never snows in my hometown. And while there’s probably no hope of this lasting even through tomorrow it’s nice to see my childhood backyard covered in snow. 

One of my favorite things about Grand Junction is the mountains you see in the background, not my town’s most famous mountains (the Monument), but I love them. The Bookcliffs, capped by Mt Garfield on the right. Most of the time they’re a pale grey and not very interesting, but all day they absorbs the sun’s light and for about five minutes after the sun sets, the Bookcliffs glow pink. And it’s gorgeous. 

My mom managed to capture it today and sent it around. And I’m so happy she did.
